DESCRIPTION:The Elder Care Support Group meets monthly and is designed for individuals caring for\, or anticipating the need to care for\, an elderly relative\, parent\, or friend. It addresses topics such as: \n\ndetermining what help is necessary and what resources are available\ncoping with feelings of anger\, guilt\, loss\, and sadness\ntips for getting elders to accept help they might need and not want\nlearning to take care of yourself\ngetting support and coping tips from others who share similar concerns\n\nFacilitated by Daria Best\, LCSW\, MS Ed. \n\nMonday\, April 13\, 1–2 pm\nMonday\, May 11\, 1–2 pm\n\n\nFor those who are unable to attend the groups\, please feel free to contact the Employee Assistance Program office at (212) 217-5600 or email Daria Best to schedule an individual\, confidential appointment to discuss your concerns. SUMMARY:Fashion Design AAS Exhibition: Harmonic Threads — Closes
DESCRIPTION:By Moe Chonan\, FIT.\nApril 8–15\, 2026\nArt and Design Gallery \nMusic is a universal language that shapes how we think\, feel\, and connect. Harmonic Threads explores music beyond genre\, focusing instead on the emotions that sound evokes and how those feelings translate into fashion. Through silhouette\, texture\, color\, and movement\, the exhibition invites viewers to consider how emotional experiences—fleeting\, layered\, or contradictory—can be materialized on the body. \nThe exhibition is organized by the Fashion Design AAS Exhibition Committee with collaborators\, including adjunct instructor Ethan Minsker of the Film and Media department\, with students Benjamin Tarace and Candance Cooper\, who produced a short film about the connection between music and emotion. Hue magazine’s Alexander Joseph and intern Kevin Diller produced a short film asking members of the FIT community about their favorite music. \nCritic Award Ceremony: April 9\, 1–2 pm \nThis exhibition is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Karl Lagerfeld at MFIT’s 2010 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion Luncheon\, Nick Hunt/PatrickMcMullan.com.\nAssociate Professor of German at Williams College Christophe Koné explores Karl Lagerfeld’s fascination with Ancient Greece. Using Chanel’s “The Modernity of Antiquity” 2017-18 cruise collection as a point of departure\, Koné will discuss the recurrence of Greek Antiquity in Lagerfeld’s work for both Chloé and Chanel\, as well as in the designer’s photography. \nFashion Culture programs are organized by The Museum at FIT to provide new perspectives on the culture of fashion.
