SUMMARY:Bir öğrencinin hayatı: Showcasing FIT's Dual Degree Program with Istanbul Technical University
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a panel discussion showcasing the dual degree program that FIT has with Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Three ITU students studying at FIT—Ecem Keskin\, Zeynep Donmez\, and Bilgesu Buyuk—will share their backgrounds and experiences as students in both Turkey and the U.S.\, and as future fashion and textile designers in Turkey. \nModerated by Nilcem “Nilly” Stitt\, the FIT ITU/Turkish cultural liaison\, and a Fashion Design professor. \nNilcem “Nilly” Stitt is a distinguished menswear designer with over a decade of experience in the fashion industry. Educated in some of the world’s fashion capitals—London\, Milan\, New York\, and Istanbul—she has honed a unique aesthetic that blends contemporary style with timeless craftsmanship. \nNilly has worked with leading fashion brands in New York and launched her own label YAKA New York\, which reflects a dedication to quality and innovative design. Coupled with production expertise gained in Istanbul\, she brings a comprehensive understanding of both design and manufacturing processes to her work. \nCurrently\, she is a professor at Fashion Institute of Technology\, where she inspires the next generation of designers through a combination of hands-on experience and innovative teaching methods. She is also a Turkish Cultural Liaison for ITU dual degree students\, where she helps students integrate socially and academically by guiding them. \nGlobally Connected @ FIT is hosted by the Office of International Programs\, History of Art\, and the Cultural Fellows. \nThis virtual event is free and open to the public; REGISTER ONLINE.
