Lecture Series: Welcome to the Black Renaissance: Using Beyoncé to Discuss Nigresence and Black Student Support

As a lifelong Beyhive member and Renaissance ticket holder, Assistant Director of Residential Life John Rowell will walk through Beyoncé’s development as an artist and her comfort with her Blackness to exemplify the theory of Nigrescence and will compare that to the spectrum of Black student support. 


Rowell will hold a series of talks throughout February in various locations, both in person and online:
