Justice Film Festival 2026: Session 5—Shuffle

The Justice Film Festival showcases films that emphasize social justice and affirm the dignity of all people. Since 2012, JFF has been committed to creating a platform for redemptive stories of marginalized people and ecosystems bravely overcoming challenges and bringing optimism, empathy, and light to a world in need of inspiration.

The Social Justice Center at FIT is proud to partner with JFF for the portion of the festival taking place at the college; sessions 1–3 take place at DCTV’s Cinema for Documentary Film and the opening night event takes place at the Film Forum.

Shuffle, Directed by Benjamin Flaherty

Shot over three years, Shuffle follows three individuals whose lives depend not on entering treatment, but on getting out alive.

Through the lens of his own recovery, a filmmaker offers a character-driven look inside the billion dollar addiction treatment industry where young people are bought and sold for their insurance policies and ushered into a system designed to keep them sick. What begins as an investigation of a street-level scam, explodes to uncover systemic conflicts-of-interest and collusion at the highest levels of government. (1 hour, 21-minutes followed by Q&A)

The film festival is open to the public; it is a ticketed event.
