SUMMARY:An Evening with Michael Edwards
DESCRIPTION:On April 15\, renowned author and fragrance guru Michael Edwards will take the stage at FIT’s Katie Murphy Amphitheatre to discuss his latest book\, American Legends: The Evolution of American Fragrances. Joining him will be Linda Levy\, president of The Fragrance Foundation\, and a surprise guest. Together they will dissect the success of fragrance in America\, discussing our cultural development through a sensory lens. We will hear about the perfumers who created the fragrances\, the designers who crafted the bottles\, and the visionaries who inspired the scents. \nIn the words of Edwards\, “To the French\, perfume is liquid art; to the Italians\, liquid style. To the Americans\, it is liquid money. The result is a unique American style at once brash\, strong\, loud\, and crass\, yet at its best\, innovative\, spirited\, elegant\, and rich.” \nAn Evening with Michael Edwards will be held in collaboration with The Fragrance Foundation. It is sponsored by FIT’s Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management programs\, the FIT Foundation\, the Social Justice Center at FIT\, and FIT’s School of Graduate Studies and Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology. \nEdwards will sign copies of his book at the event. \nThis is an invitation-only event.
