SUMMARY:Exhibition: Love Thy Neighbor’Hood — Closes
DESCRIPTION:“The Luxury of Knowing Me\,” by Toluwani Adesanya\nJanuary 24–February 11\, 2024\nGallery FIT\, The Museum at FIT \nWhat is a home? How do we view the communities that shaped us into who we are today? \nFor Black History Month\, students from the FIT Black Student Union present Love Thy Neighbor’Hood\, an exhibition that illustrates the dynamics of home and what that means to each artist. From an outside perspective\, many predominantly black neighborhoods are viewed as dangerous and scary places\, where nothing good ever comes about. These artists are challenging that narrative through their art. The exhibit features works of varying mediums created by people of a wide-range of backgrounds across the diaspora. \nThis exhibition is free and open to the public.
