SUMMARY:Interior Design 2017 Senior Thesis Exhibition: Place Making…Space Becomes Place — Closes
DESCRIPTION:October 9–20  \nThe Interior Design Department presents the thesis projects from the program completed during the spring of 2017. The task of the 2017 Thesis Studio class members was to create experiences of place. These places had to be representative of the current and future lifestyles of individuals. Just as technology has altered human existence\, interior design has a responsibility to respond to a world that is ever evolving. Design must recognize current and developing ideas of how the places for today are rooted in our way of living. \n So a focus on “place making” was emphasized rather than just “space making.” As appropriate to an Interior Design baccalaureate degree\, each thesis deals with physical space\, the perception of space\, and the meaning of space in relationship to human behavioral issues and how these combine to become a “place.”
