SUMMARY:Documentary Screening: 'Red Fever: The Indigenous Influence on Western Culture\,' with Korina Emmerich
DESCRIPTION:Red Fever is a witty and entertaining feature documentary about the profound—yet hidden—Indigenous influence on Western culture and identity. Why have Indigenous cultures been revered\, romanticized\, and appropriated for so long\, and to this day? Red Fever uncovers the surprising truths behind the imagery. \nThe screening will be followed by a Q&A with the Brooklyn-based designer Korina Emmerich (who appears in the documentary). FIT faculty member Natalie Nudell\, History of Art\, will moderate the Q&A. \nThe Gladys Marcus Library and Fashion Studies Alliance co-host the event. \nThis event is free and open to the public; REGISTER HERE.
