DESCRIPTION:SUNY is committed to civic engagement as an essential outcome of higher education and has created a new competency called Civic Discourse in Democracy. At FIT\, we are initiating conversations both in and outside of the classroom on what it means to be engaged and empowered within our community and how to shape the future. \nThis student-faculty roundtable discussion on civic engagement is an opportunity for our community to talk about: \n\nThe upcoming election\nStandards for community engagement\nSocial issues that directly affect everyday life at FIT\nInclusive classroom discussions\nStrategies for creating dialogue on campus\n\nLunch will be provided.
