SUMMARY:Exhibition: Unseen Memory: Part II — Closes
DESCRIPTION:November 19–December 11\, 2022\nGallery FIT \nMemories\, both real and imagined\, are the catalyst of this group exhibition of photographic-based imagery by FIT students in the Photographic Concepts and Exhibition (PH352) classes. The exhibition Unseen Memory is a creative exploration of personal narrative\, identity\, and truth experienced by Fine Arts students in the Photography Department. Collaborating with students from all three PH352 classes along with professors Jessica Wynne\, Tiffany Smith\, and Michel Leroy\, the exhibition is presented in two consecutive shows in Gallery FIT at The Museum at FIT. \nThis exhibition is Part Two of the exhibition; Part One was on display October 29–November 13. \nThis exhibition is free and open to the public.

We cover the floor of the John E. Reeves Great Hall with the work. This semester the show is on December 15\, from 1 to 5 pm. This year\, work from the fourth-year students will also be on view at the north end of the hall. Print graphics\, motion graphics\, and expressive typography abound. SUMMARY:Exhibition: Renewal of Symbols: Contemporary Minhwa Paintings — Closes
DESCRIPTION:August 25–December 16 \nMinhwa is traditional Korean folk art from the Chosun era (1392-1910) painted on paper or canvas in a simplistic but expressive style executed in bold colors. Translated as “painting of the people” or “popular painting\,” it is often the work of anonymous craftsmen and shows figures from folk mythology and legends\, symbols of happiness\, wealth and health\, and scenes of everyday life. Minhwa is known for expressing its emotions using symbolism\, optimism\, humor\, and satire. This exhibition is curated by FIT Professor Kyunghee Pyun. \nFeaturing artists: Seongmin Ahn\, Cho Uk Kim\, Hyunmee Kim\, Minjung Kim\, Sejung Nam\, Kate Oh\, Eunkyoung Park\, Olivia Sung\, Younho Yang\, Seung Hyun Woo \n2022 Minhwa Creative Collective\nSeongmin Ahn\, art director\nRachel Kim\, Hana Glanz\, Yoon Lee\, Justin Pyun \nThis exhibition is on view inside the Gladys Marcus Library; you need an FIT ID or visitor pass to access the library.
