Documentary Screening: Dust to Dust, with Yuima Nakazato

Screening of the documentary DUST TO DUST by Kosai Sekine that follows Yuima Nakazato from the textile landfills of Kenya to the Paris haute couture runway. It looks at the environmental and social cost of global clothing production through the lens of his own practice. It premiered at Tribeca in 2024, where it won the Human/Nature Award, and has since screened at more than 25 international festivals.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the fashion designer and subject of the film Yuima Nakazato. Yuima is a Japanese couturier whose work sits between fashion, contemporary art, and material research. He trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and has been an official guest designer at Paris Haute Couture Week since 2016, still the only Japanese member.
