The Interior Design Department honors Perkins&Will with its 2026 Lawrence Israel Prize. The prize, endowed by the architect Lawrence J. Israel, has been given annually since 1998 to an individual or firm whose ideas and work enrich FIT Interior Design students’ course of study.

Perkins&Will will give a presentation on the firm’s work and design philosophy for the FIT community and general public to celebrate the prize. With an international team of more than 2,800 professionals, Perkins&Will has over 35 studios worldwide, providing integrated services in architecture, interior design, branded environments, urban design, and landscape architecture.

Perkins&Will leadership Jennifer Graham (principal), Sommer Schauer (principal and design director), and Matthew Krissel (design director) will present.

Prior awardees include Annabelle Selldorf, Karim Rashid, Lot-ek, David Rockwell, Gaetano Pesce, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Tony Chi, and Joel Sanders.

This lecture is part of Archtober, a monthlong festival of events promoting the discovery of architecture and design.

This event is free and open to the public.
